SAIL– (Mon & Fri 12:45) a fall prevention program that will be held 2 days a week and includes a cardio, stretch and strengthening exercises.

Arthritis Exercise (Tues 10:15) A seated class-Helps you gain strength and range of motion. (Cancelled 9/5 & 10/10-10/31)

Strength and Balance (Tues 11:00) improve your movement and balance for everyday activities. (Cancelled 9/5 & 10/10-10/31)

Yoga II (Tues 8:30):  Yoga I (Thurs 9:15): Hatha Yoga.  Bring your own yoga mat, 2 yoga blocks, strap, and 1 woolen type blanket.  You must be able to get on the floor.  (Yoga II cancelled 9/5.  Yoga I cancelled 9/7)

Yoga Chair (Thurs 10:30) Yoga poses adapted in a safe/accessible way.  You may do the class seated in a chair or stand and just use the chair for balance.  (Chair Yoga cancelled 9/7)

Tai Chi I (Fri 9:30) Beginner level.  Yang style 64- form refining skills, strengthening foundations through all 64 postures. (**First class September 22nd**)

Tai Chi II (Wed 8:30 & Fri 8:30) Intermediate level.  Yang style 64- form refining skills, strengthening foundations through all 64 postures and learning a new Tai-Chi form with a fan or a cane. (**First class September 20th**)

Tai Chi-Gong (Wed 9:35) Able to stand for longer periods? Been doing Qi-Gong a while?  Interested in learning some Tai-Chi? Choose this class! (**First class September 20th**)

Qi-Gong I (Wed 10:45).For all levels- stand or sit. Benefit balance, strengthen legs, reduce stress and pain, and help regain vitality and stamina through gentle movements/regulation of breath/activation of energy, alertness, and coordination.  (**First class September 20th**)

Chair Zumba (Fri 10:30) Seated or standing (no side to side motion).  A fun way to improve all elements of fitness (cardiovascular, muscular conditioning, flexibility). (Cancelled 9/1)

Zumba Gold (Thurs. & Fri 11:30) A lower impact, easy-to-follow, Latin-inspired dance fitness-party that keeps you in the groove of life.  (Cancelled 9/1)

Ping-Pong (Mon, Wednes, Thurs, check calendar for times) Two Tables Available!

Fitness Room (Open 9-4 each day) **You must have an orientation with staff before using the machines. See staff for details.

Gold’s Gym (Tues/Thurs 10:40) Walk down to Gold’s Gym for a fitness class “Forever Young” ($3 per class with Senior Center Member card).

Personal Training (Mon & Fri 9-12) – Pete Kirchoffer, a certified trainer providing 30 minute one-on-one training sessions. (Cancelled 9/15)


Voice (Mon 10:30) Learn to sing or enhance your musical talent in a fun group lesson.

Piano (Mon 12:00-3:00- with 15 min time slots) All levels. Learn to play the piano or refresh, advance your skills.


Quilting/Sewing/Crochet/Knit (Tues 12:30) Work with our instructor to create something!

Painting (Wed 10:00) all levels. Learn all aspects of watercolor and acrylic painting techniques and composition.  Explore additional styles including Western style painting. Paint kits are available for purchase.

Multi-Media Art Class (Wed 12:30) Make unique art creations using a variety of mediums. Learn basic concepts of drawing, painting, and other art techniques: Focus on weaving and chalk/charcoal drawing, print making. Paint kits are available for purchase.


Lunch and Learn (Thurs 11:45) We are watching: “Foundations of Western Civilization”. Bring your lunch and learn about the western civilization in this Great Courses DVD Series.

Mental Muscle (Mondays 10:30) Challenge your mind by working and stretching your brain with fun games and puzzles. If you miss it on Monday- the brain exercises (and answers) are available in the folder on the hall bulletin board.

Learn Something New (Wednesdays 12:45) shake up your routine by learning something new and interesting. It could be a new game, a Fairfax County event, a stress reliever, and more!

Grand Involve Program – We hope to work with children at Lorton Station Elementary this school year.


Wednesday with Jay (10:00-12:00) – Sign up for a time slot and get help with computers.


Legends & Legacies: Do you have a special photo or two that you would like to preserve? We will scan our precious memories, store them safely, and share with family and friends.

A Story of a Lifetime: We will create an online storybook of our lifetime. It will include everything from where we were born, schools attended, and favorite childhood games.
