We need you!

Lorton Senior Center’s Advisory Council plays at critical role in the running of our center. We need members that will actively participate, generate feedback and ideas from all members, assist in planning and facilitating socials, special trips and special events. Recruiting volunteers, assisting in fundraising, promoting the center, serve as officer: president, vice president, treasurer, secretary or members at large.

Anyone who has a willingness to meet on a regular basis, to provide leadership for the center and assist staff in providing a program of activities and services that best meet the needs of our participants, please see current council member or staff to get on this year’s ballot.

The Fairfax County Department of Neighborhood and Community Services (NCS) offers this public wireless access for your convenience. This wireless access is through a public network connected to the Internet and it is NOT secure. NCS is not responsible for the use of your equipment to connect with the Internet over the wireless access. You accept personal awareness of and responsibility for the risks of using the Internet and wireless communications. Wireless Internet access for any illegal or prohibited purpose, including but not limited to fraud, gambling, child pornography, and interfering with other wireless devices, is not permitted and will result in the loss of Internet privileges offered at NCS locations.


Lorton Senior Center for Active Adults (LSC)  offers opportunities to make new friends, stay on the move, and learn new things. As you browse this site,  you will learn more about the fitness and arts classes; the health and wellness programs, the computer, Internet and camera courses; the trips and tours; the countless opportunities to socialize with others and stay connected with your community; and so much more.  Adults age 55 and over may join any of the 13 senior centers sponsored by the Department of Neighborhood and Community Services. There is an annual membership fee for attending the senior centers. Lunch and Transportation may be available, please see staff for additional information.
